So far in this guide, we’ve focused on accessing DAZN Canada with a VPN. We’ve done this as our research found it’s by far the best way to watch out-of-market NFL games.
However, there are other ways to watch NFL games. You can quickly compare other NFL streaming sites in the table below:
We detail the pros and cons of each way to stream NFL games in the sections below. We’ll also explain what games you can access using them, as well as how they compare to NFL Game Pass on DAZN Canada.
1. NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV
Pros compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Cons compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Doesn’t require a VPN subscription |
$249.12 more expensive per year |
|
Minimum 1 year contract |
|
Lacks Thursday Night Football |
|
Doesn’t cover Monday Night Football |
SUMMARY: We recommend against signing up for NFL Sunday Ticket. DAZN is a lot cheaper, it has short-term subscription plans, and includes both Monday and Thursday Night Football.
NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube is the most expensive way to watch NFL games.
NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV is a good alternative to NFL Game Pass, but it’s not affordable for most people. Using it, you can watch out-of-market Sunday Night Football as well as NFL RedZone.
NFL Sunday Ticket is extremely expensive. For YouTube TV subscribers, Sunday Ticket can be added to your existing package for a slightly reduced fee of $389.00 annually. Otherwise, the stand-alone service is priced at $489.00 per year on YouTube. Despite showing far fewer games, Sunday Ticket is almost double the cost of Game Pass on DAZN.
Additionally, NFL Sunday Ticket is only available through an annual subscription. If you’re only interested in a few games over a brief period, you’ll have to commit to the full price regardless. By contrast, DAZN Canada offers a flexible monthly subscription, allowing for easy cancellation.
Given its price, we expected to see more impressive studio analysis of the games. Instead, Sunday Ticket simply re-airs the games from the free local CBS or FOX broadcast. These are the same streams that are available on DAZN Canada for a significantly lower price.
2. NFL+
Pros compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Cons compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Doesn’t require a VPN subscription |
Mobile-only |
|
Doesn’t include out-of-market NFL games |
|
More expensive
|
|
No access to NFL RedZone |
|
Only available in the US
|
SUMMARY: We don’t recommend using NFL+ unless you’re only interested in game replays.
NFL+ only works on mobile devices.
NFL+ is a US-only streaming service by the NFL. Before the 2022/23 NFL season, NFL+ was called NFL Game Pass in the US.
However, NFL+ doesn’t come close to matching the features currently offered by Game Pass on DAZN. The main downside to NFL+ is that it doesn’t have live out-of-market games. You can only watch live local and primetime games as well as preseason games.
As well, there’s no way to watch NFL+ on your computer, laptop, or TV. Games are only available on your tablet or phone. Using it, you can watch full replays of every game after the telecast has finished.
In contrast, NFL Game Pass International on DAZN is cheaper, it provides access to far more games, and you can use it on your TV or computer.
3. Over-the-Top Media Services (YouTube TV, FuboTV, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV)
Pros compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Cons compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Doesn’t require a VPN subscription |
$70.00 more expensive per month |
Longer free trial period |
Doesn’t have Thursday or Sunday games |
|
NFL RedZone costs extra |
SUMMARY: OTT media services compare poorly to an NFL Game Pass subscription. To get NFL RedZone and stream every game live at a much cheaper rate, we suggest choosing DAZN Canada instead.
YouTube TV allows you to watch local NFL games without a traditional cable subscription.
Without the Sunday Ticket add-on, you cannot watch out-of-market games on over-the-top (OTT) media services, such as YouTube TV and Sling TV. These OTT services only allow you to access traditional cable channels.
We were only able to stream what’s typically offered in our local area plus nationally broadcast games. You won’t be able to access Thursday Night Football or any non-televised Sunday games.
To see highlights from live Sunday afternoon games, you have to pay extra to get NFL RedZone. However, this is a $10.00 add-on on top of an already expensive OTT subscription.
4. Amazon Prime Video
Pros compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Cons compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Doesn’t require a VPN subscription |
257 fewer games |
Longer free trial period |
$12.00 more expensive per month |
No additional cost for Prime subscribers |
Doesn’t have NFL RedZone |
SUMMARY: We only recommend using Prime Video for NFL if you’re already subscribed to Amazon Prime. Otherwise, there are cheaper options available with over 17 times more games.
Prime Video only shows Thursday Night Football.
Prime Video is a poor option for watching out-of-market NFL games. The streaming service only broadcasts Thursday Night Football, meaning you can only watch one game a week. It also doesn’t have any postseason games or the Super Bowl.
Prime Video shows just 15 regular season games per season. By comparison, all 272 games are available on DAZN Canada.
Although Prime Video is relatively expensive, we found that you can watch every Thursday Night Football game free on Twitch. The Amazon-owned live streaming service is simulcasting each game in English and Spanish. To stream, go to the Prime Video Twitch channel and click play. You won’t need to register for an account.
5. Over-the-Air Antenna
Pros compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Cons compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
No stream delay |
Limited to in-market NFL games |
Completely free once antenna is purchased |
Not compatible with mobile and computers |
|
Requires installation and configuration |
SUMMARY: While OTA antennas offer a cost-effective solution for accessing live, in-market NFL games, they compare poorly to DAZN Canada in several aspects. You won’t be able to access out-of-market NFL games and NFL RedZone, plus you’re limited to watching only on a TV.
AntennaWeb provides a useful tool to identify local TV channels available in your area.
Using an OTA antenna, you can receive broadcast signals from local TV stations, restricting your viewing to only those games available in your area. The number of games you can watch depends on your location and the size of your antenna.
To find which channels are available in your area and the type of antenna you’ll need, you can use sites like AntennaWeb. For more specific information, 506 Sports provides up-to-date information for the exact games that are in-market for you. You’ll need to pay around $50 for an antenna that offers decent coverage, which is significantly more affordable than DAZN Canada and other streaming options.
One of the benefits we appreciated with the OTA antenna was the real-time broadcast, allowing us to follow online analysis of the game without any spoilers. This was particularly noticeable when compared to DAZN, where we observed a lag of one to two minutes behind the live game.
However, the drawbacks of using an antenna outweigh its advantages. You won’t be able to access any out-of-market NFL games, NFL RedZone, and you’ll be confined to watching the game on your TV.
6. Free Safe Streaming Services
Pros compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Cons compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Completely free |
Limited game coverage |
No payment details required |
Streams frequently interrupted by ads |
|
Lack of NFL RedZone |
SUMMARY: Free legitimate streaming sites are a viable option for casual NFL viewers, satisfied with limited game coverage and ads. However, these sites are only available with a UK or Australian IP address. If you’re located outside these countries, you’ll need to pay for a compatible VPN.
7Plus
7Plus uses the video and commentary feed from US channels, like CBS.
7Plus is a legitimate Australian free-to-air broadcaster. It offers an easy-to-use platform for streaming NFL games with no payment details required at sign-up.
While streaming NFL games on 7Plus, we particularly appreciated the quality of the commentary. For most games, the service uses the US Fox commentary and video feed. This meant that analysis was provided by recognizable experts, like Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen.
However, the limited selection of games was a noticeable drawback. The streaming site only broadcasts two games each week, both on Sunday afternoon, restricting your choice significantly.
The number of ads we encountered also limited our enjoyment. The need to disable ad blockers and wait through commercial breaks was frustrating, particularly when compared to ad-free streaming options.
My5
My5 broadcasts every Monday Night Football game for free.
My5, the streaming service provided by the UK’s Channel 5, is a completely legitimate and safe free option for streaming NFL games. However, it falls far short of premium alternatives.
Using it, you can access every Monday Night Football game for free without providing any payment details. Though it’s a benefit to not worry about subscription fees, My5’s NFL coverage is extremely limited in comparison to alternatives.
My5 only broadcasts 17 of the 272 regular-season NFL games, a considerable difference to platforms like DAZN Canada, which covers every game. Additionally, unlike DAZN, My5 does not offer NFL RedZone or any postseason games, including the Super Bowl.
Another aspect of My5 that we found annoying was its heavy use of ads. To access a game, we had to watch eight pre-roll ads, which was in addition to the standard commercial breaks included in the live broadcast.
7. Free Unsafe NFL Streaming Sites
Pros compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Cons compared to NFL Game Pass via DAZN Canada |
Free |
Illegal |
|
Some contain malware |
SUMMARY: Although many other publications recommend 100% free unsafe NFL streaming websites, we discovered that these sites host copyrighted content and are therefore illegal. Some of them even contain malware.
Free NFL streaming sites are illegal and often contain malware.
When analyzing popular NFL stream sites, like Buffstreams and BossCast, we also found that all of them contained viruses, malware, and invasive tracking ads.
We ran multiple free NFL website URLs through Virus Total’s virus scanner. In every case, malicious files were detected.
Here’s a list of free NFL streaming websites you should avoid:
- 123 TV
- BossCast
- Buffstreams
- CricFreeTV
- DaddyLiveHD
- Live TV
- NFLBites
- NFLWebcast
- Stream2Watch
- StreamNFL
Read the sections below for an in-depth evaluation of two of the most popular free illegal NFL streaming sites.
DaddyLiveHD
DaddyLiveHD contains lots of ads, and accessing it is against the law.
DaddyLiveHD offers access to various live global sports channels, including those broadcasting NFL games. Despite its wide coverage, there are significant risks and limitations that mean you should avoid it under all circumstances.
Our research confirms that cybersecurity tools have flagged the website as malicious, meaning there’s a high risk of encountering harmful content such as trojans or viruses.
Our attempt to stream games led to an extremely poor experience. Clicking on what seemed like legitimate links redirected us to questionable websites with suspicious content, including adult advertisements and error messages instructing us to download software.
Once we managed to access a game stream, we were disappointed by the cluttered and confusing interface. The inability to expand the video stream to full screen and the constant presence of a distracting live chat feed made it difficult to focus on the game.
StreamNFL
StreamNFL broadcasts copyrighted content without permission, making it illegal to access.
StreamNFL is far easier to use and has a more attractive design compared to other free, unauthorized websites. You can quickly access the game you want by clicking the fixture from the home screen, instead of searching through various channels, as is the case with platforms like DaddyLiveHD.
Despite this, StreamNFL does not hold the rights to broadcast any NFL games, making it illegal to access.
A significant drawback of StreamNFL is that it embeds videos from external sources. This means that the streams could originate from potentially harmful websites. In our testing, we were often automatically redirected to other websites, some of which we later identified as hosting suspicious files.
Moreover, the reliability of StreamNFL is poor. We often encountered a ‘this video is not available at the moment’ error message. Even when streams were accessible, we experienced frequent buffering and pauses, despite having a fast internet connection.
While StreamNFL may offer a more user-friendly interface than other free sites, the legal and security risks combined with inconsistent streaming quality mean you should avoid it under all circumstances.
